Version Beta 0.3!
I just published the Beta 0.3 to the main One Dimenzion page as the new android version!
Some changes are very small while other add a ton of new features on which we can expand in the future:
Overhauled health system:
due to some comments about the player being invincible, I overhauled the whole system to use hearts instead of a regenerating float value. Previously, it was not being shown as a UI element, it was displayed as the level of brightness of the end blue light and the level of bloom intensity, now it is displayed with 16 blue hearts with 16 health points, the bloom and light indicators are still used but with slight changes
currently, the damage of all enemies is 1 health point with the exception of LilSiren (small red cube) and LilRibbon (Shooting anoyance) which both deal 2 health points of damage.
Added DataPersistaence saveing system:
This is arguably the most important addition in this update, it will bring many different possibilities for the future updates. In this version only the high score is saved, it is saved on the device in the games files and is not serialized. The game currently saves automatically every 5 seconds, Manual saving is done every time the quit button is pressed to quit the app.
Added pause menu with quit button:
the new update also brings some UI changes that were necessary! The only way to quit the app in the 0.2.1 version is to exit the game window and remove the window from history, this is also what caused the save system to not work in the expected version. Now, due to some comments about a pause button, you can enjoy a break with exacly that, a pause button with a quit button.
Fixed bugs and slight changes:
despite it being a small visual change, a different font is now used for both the tutorial and score.
The previous version had a lot of bugs and features that were not exacly well made, that includes the death screen transition, which has now been updated to work properly with the overhauled health system.
another strange issue was the camera rotation which for some reason didnt work for some devices, now it has been changed to work for all devices.
by some other requests, indicator lines have been added to the knockback points. Additionally, the back camera area overtime damage has now been replaced by another knockback point, all camera related damage was removed.
Next updates:
I am accepting all ideas and I will try to fix every reported bug. I am already working on the next update, but no sneak peaks yet, follow the future dev logs to get some early sneak peeks.
